Swing Left Academy

This past weekend I participated in an awesome training by Swing Left, an organization dedicated to swinging the House of Representatives to the Democrats in November.

The training had sooooooo much useful information for activists this election cycle.  It was also three hours long.  (Here’s a link to the full training.)  So I’ve made what you might call a TL;DR version, which hits all the key points in 19 minutes.

Check out this Simple Way to Get Your Friends to Vote

Arizona is having a special election on the 24th to fill a seat in the 8th Congressional District.  There are primaries this spring and summer to decide who will represent each party in the midterm elections on November 6th.

You’re going to vote, of course.

But what about your family, friends, work colleagues?   What’s the most effective way to ensure that someone who intends to vote actually does?

Help them make a plan.  Here’s how:

3 Powerful Voter Outreach Tactics (& How to Use Them Strategically)

How can your group mobilize other citizens to vote for change in the midterms?

In this information-rich video, Elizabeth Juviler, Political Director of NJ 11th for Change, explains how to organize your own voter outreach effort using three key tactics:

  1. Phone Calls
  2. Postcard Parties
  3. Door-to-Door Canvassing

More than simply describing the tactics, she describes how to use them strategically by analyzing a voter list and targeting the right tactic at the right voter segment.
